03-29-19 PICNIC
20th Anniversary Picnic at Oracle State Park 03-29-19

April 1, 2020

Hello Hikers,

The SaddleBrooke Hiking Club has over five-hundred energetic, enthusiastic members whose passion is hiking the Sonoran Desert, grand canyons, gentle hills and magnificent mountains of Southern Arizona.  This is a wonderfully diverse ecosystem. Although the club gathers periodically for social hours, picnics, and trail work days, the main activity and focus is hiking in Arizona.

Membership in the club is open to all SaddleBrooke residents for $10 a year.  If you are a resident, you must be a member to hike with the club, although you may hike one time without joining.  Non-residents may join a hike as a guest on a space available basis when accompanied by a member.  Hikes are led by club member guides who choose from the club’s database of almost 500 hikes or propose their own at the hiking guide meetings.  Hikes are graded according to difficulty and vary from easy strolls to strenuous, challenging climbs.

Fitness walks around SaddleBrooke are led Monday through Friday mornings and generally cover 3-4 miles.

Multi-day hiking trips to various areas in the Southwest are offered once or twice a year. Occasionally individual guides will organize a backpacking trip.

The club’s bi-monthly newsletter is posted on this website (see NEWSLETTERS). It has articles about the club and a chronological list of currently scheduled hikes.  The newsletter is published mid-month six times a year (February, April, June, August, October and December) and covers a two-month period.

If you wish to join the club, please complete the Membership Application and Release form posted on the “FORMS” page of this website, and mail it with your check to the designated address.

We look forward to seeing you on our hikes! Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Regards,
