When Robert Stieve Highways spoke to our hiking club in 2023, he mentioned that Arizona Highways would be publishing a “Arizona Highways Summer Hiking Guide.” This new book is now available in the DesertView Library, in the Southwest collection.
The guidebook features 50 hikes, for hikers of all levels. In addition to gorgeous photographs that accompany each trail description, there is practical information including: GPS coordinates, length, difficulty, elevation, etc. Some popular summer hikes are not included because of trail damage from recent fires. If you are looking for ideas to get away from the heat in southern Arizona this summer, pick up this lovely book and try out some new hikes!
