MEMBER DUES PROCESS

Hello All Members,

 

It’s that time of year when we start collecting dues for the upcoming year. Following is some information that you may find useful:  

 

General

 

Per the By-Laws, the membership year is January 1 to December 31.  For renewing members, dues are payable in advance prior to the start of the new year via online payment on the club website.  If your membership lapses due to non-payment by 12-31-24, you will not be able to register for hikes and events until you renew. 

 

Cost of Membership

 

Dues are $15.00 per year effective July 20, 2024.  All members who prepaid for future years (2025 and beyond) before dues were increased to $15.00 per year are grandfathered in and will not be required to pay the additional $5 per year. New members applying for membership will pay the new rate, as will existing members who renew for 2025 and have not prepaid for future years.

 

When Do My Dues Expire?

 

To determine when your dues expire, follow these steps:

  • Log in to the website with your username and password
  • Once logged in, hover over your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
  • Click on the menu item labeled “Profile
  • View the top box on the Profile page which displays among other information your Membership Expiration Date
  • While you are on the Profile page, it’s a good time to verify and update as required your personal information such as address, phone numbers, and email address

 

How Do I Pay My Dues?

 

Payment is done online on the club website by clicking on the link that opens the payment portal.  At the time this article was written, Club Express was modifying payment portal software and details on the link were not available.  As soon as they are, an email will be sent to all members detailing steps required to renew.  Also note that three automated messages will be sent to active members who are not paid up for 2025.  Two will precede the deadline of 12/31/2024, and one will be sent shortly after the payment deadline.

 

Dues Rules

 

  • The membership year starts on January 1 and ends on December 31

  • $15.00 per year under all options (no discounts)
  •  

  • Payment options: 1, 2 or 3 years at a time
  • No lifetime memberships
  • No refunds, even for multi-year payments

  • If dues are raised and you paid in advance, you are grandfathered in and do not have to pay the differential
  • New members joining in January through September get the remaining months of that year for the first paid year, with no discounts for joining after January 1.  Other paid years are for a full twelve months.

  • New members joining in the months of October, November, and December get these months gratis, with dues credited starting in January of the next year.This is consistent with the current By-Laws.
