The Hiking Club Picnic is Friday, March 28, from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
All you need to do to reserve your spot for the picnic is go to the Hikes Calendar of our SBHC website starting March 1. Be sure you register before March 22.
You and your hiking friends will gather at Catalina State Park’s Gila Monster picnic site for the usual fun and great food. The picnic will begin with a few words from our leadership, to be followed by fabulous chicken and incredible sides contributed by you!
Plan also to participate in the Gear Gift and Grab - the now famous boutique where you can donate no longer needed hiking items and will probably find the perfect treasure for yourself. All proceeds from the GG&G go to our Club treasury.
To accompany the fried and baked chicken, please bring a side dish as determined by your last name:
A-K: Fruit, Greens, or Other Salad
L-P: Dessert
Q-Z: Pasta, Potato, or Other Hearty Side Dish
Bring any heat vulnerable dishes in a cooler of some sort; put your name on your dish and utensils - be sure to pick them up as you leave.
And, of course, there will be the traditional drawing for $25 gift certificates to one of your favorite hiking outfitters. Winners! Winners!
If you register but find you are not able to attend, please cancel your reservation. This prevents food waste and saves the Club money.
