Kathleen Bell | Published on 8/15/2026

In 1974, two explorers went looking for a cave that “no one had ever found.”   They had discovered a massive cavern on land owned by James and Lois Kartchner.

To hear the rest of this story and learn more about what is today Kartchner Caverns State Park, you are invited to the SBHC fall program on October 28, 2026, in the MountainView West Ballroom at 4 p.m.

Hailey Miloni and her trusted trail companion (now deceased).

Hailey Miloni, KCSP Ranger and Interpretive Program Coordinator, will give a presentation.  Hailey is an outdoor enthusiast, originally from Nebraska and schooled in Colorado.  She now lives with her husband and dogs in Hereford, AZ.
