Superstitions: Weavers Needle Loop. Rating: B+. Pace: Moderate [426, 06:00 AM, $20]. The circular hike loops completely around the iconic Weaver's Needle. It is beautiful, steep, and rocky and passes through areas of huge boulders in the Superstition Mountains. The hike begins at the Peralta Trailhead and traverses a clockwise route following the Peralta Trail 6.7 miles over Fremont Saddle where we get our first glimpse of Weavers Needle. Next, we follow the Dutchman's Trail one mile, followed by the Terrapin Trail for 3.2 miles on the east side of the very prominent Weavers Needle, passing through Terrapin Pass and Barks Canyon along the way. We complete the loop back to the Peralta Trailhead parking area on FR 77 via the Bluff Spring Trail for 2.7 miles. Hike 13.7 miles; trailhead elevation 2370 feet; net elevation change 1370 feet; accumulated gain 2940 feet; RTD 154 miles (dirt).
