Rating: C***. Pace: Moderate [NEW, 05:30 AM, $7]. A circular hike from the Hugh Norris Trailhead in Saguaro National Park West. We will traverse the Bajada Wash, Dobe Wash, Sendero Esperanza (some ascending involved), and Hugh Norris Trails. The Bajada Wash includes a side spur to Valley View Overlook where there are splendid views of the Avra Valley spread below and Picacho Peak against the horizon to the north. Note the early "beat the heat" starting time. Hike will be cancelled if temp in Tucson is predicted to be greater than 90 by 10:30 AM. Bring snacks, and 2 quarts of water. Hike 7.3 miles; trailhead elevation 2600 feet; net elevation change 1145 feet; accumulated gain 1250 feet; RTD 73 miles.
