[C***] Tortoise Rock

About this event

A new Saddlebrooke backyard trail.  The "Tortoise Rock" trail [C**. Pace: Moderate 08:00 AM, $0] This trail goes to a large balanced rock east of the Preserve. Tortoise Rock trail starts at the lower end of Willow Canyon Dr and across the CDO at the base of Golder Dam.  The trail makes its way north among several spectacular rock gardens, outcroppings and saguaros Trail length is 1.2 miles with overall elevation gain of 450 feet for the 2.4 mile round trip.

Potential extension. Ever wonder what that "shiny object" just north of the rock that can be seen from the Preserve is?  We can also hike to this feature and satisfy your curiosity. Will require an extra mile and mild bush whacking, wear pants and long sleeves.
