Prison Camp to Sabino Canyon Visitor Ctr. Rating: B. Pace: Moderate [567, 06:00 AM, $12]. This is a beautiful mostly downhill hike from the old prison camp off the Catalina Hwy to the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center. Hike begins at the end of Gordon Hirabayashi Campground parking area and proceeds mostly down toward the old Sycamore reservoir. Hike then proceeds into Sabino Canyon until the intersection of the Sabino Canyon trail. Hike proceeds on the Sabino Canyon trail, hooking up with the Phone Line trail to the Sabino Canyon visitor center. Vehicles will be left at the visitor center for transport back to Prison Camp. This is a beautiful hike with stream crossings, waterfalls and panoramic views. You will experience several hundred yards of the trail with some exposure. Hike 12.6 miles trailhead elevation 4863 feet net elevation change minus 1550 feet accumulated gain approximately 1100 feet RTD 94 mile
