Lost Goldmine Trail. Rating: A. Pace: Moderate [NEW, 05:30 AM, $18]. This hike in the Superstition Mountains starts at the trailhead on Peralta Road in Gold Canyon and we hike in a westward direction. It is a lengthy traverse of the Lost Goldmine Trail in its entirety. Along its route we will view a beautiful example of petroglyphs thousands of years old on a spur along the Hieroglyphic Trail and then further along we will take another spur off the main path and explore Broadway Cave. We wind up at the Broadway Parking at the west end of the Lost Goldmine Trail in Apache Junction. Hike 17.0 miles; Peralta Road trailhead elevation (start) 2275 feet; Broadway Trailhead elevation (end) 1943 feet; net elevation change 790 feet; accumulated gain 2150 feet; RTD 170 miles.
