The Douglas Spring Trailhead is located at the east end of Speedway Blvd. The hike involves some relatively steep climbing up the Douglas Spring Trail for the first 2.5 miles, before turning off on the 0.3 mile spur leading to the falls.*** The trail is well used and easy to follow, but does require some rock scrambling to reach the falls .We return via the Douglas Spring trail for 0.3 miles, and then take the Three Tanks Trail for 1.5 miles to where it joins the Carillo Trail. We hike for 0.5 miles and rejoin the Douglas Spring Trail, with considerable elevation, and return to the trailhead. Water may be flowing over the falls if there has been sufficient rainfall. Hike 7.3 miles; trailhead elevation 2720 feet; net elevation change 1050 feet; accumulated gain 1184 feet; RTD 80 miles.
