The ever-popular Hiking Club Picnic is returning to Catalina State Park on Friday, March 22. We will meet once again at the Gila Monster Picnic site for Welcome and Announcements beginning at 11:30 with lunch being served at noon.
The event is free to all members - accompanying persons must also be members. The $7.00 per car entrance fee or AZ State Parks Annual Pass is required at the gate. Parking will be limited, so carpooling is encouraged.
Due to the large attendance we have experienced recently, bringing a chair is also encouraged.
The club will provide both fried and baked chicken, and water will be available. You are asked to bring a side dish to share according to the first letter of your last name:
A to K – dessert
L to P - pasta, potato, or other hearty side
Q to Z - fruit, green salad, or other salad.
RSVPs will begin on March 1, using our new website, and must be made prior to March 17.
But wait…there’s more!!! In addition to fine dining, you will be treated to the first-ever Hiking Gear Gift & Grab event.
- You may donate to the SBHC by bringing unneeded hiking related items - clothing or gear.
- If interested, you will be able to purchase some items from those donated for a small fee (no more than $15) All proceeds will go to SBHC.
- Tables will be available for placing your donated items.
- Shopping will begin after club business is concluded and continue through the picnicking.
